Surveillance system installation requirements
List of security conditions and requirements for installing a surveillance system under the Ministry of Interior document.
Camera locations and site plan
- Camera locations on site must match the site plan (croqui) drawing.
- Camera locations must match the positions specified in the conditions document.
- Cameras must not be installed in prohibited areas.
Camera specifications and live view
- Cameras must be color cameras.
- Cameras must be visible and not concealed.
- Camera resolution must be at least 2MP.
- Cameras must include motion detection and tamper alarm tracking.
- Live view must be at least 30 frames per second per camera.
- Cameras must include IR light filtering with automatic switch to monochrome night imaging when visible light fades.
Recording and retention
- Video recorder resolution must be at least Full HD 1080p.
- Recording retention must be at least 31 days.
Display screens and control stations
- Display screens must be designed for continuous operation 24/7/365.
- Display and video recording device resolution must be at least Full HD 1080p.
- Screens at operation stations must be at least 21 inches.
Cabling and network
- Cabling used must meet at least high-quality copper CAT6 minimum.
- All system connections must be secured against tampering or accidental disconnection, with attention to appearance when cabling.
- Exposed cabling must be protected with plastic conduits indoors and metal conduits outdoors.
- A dedicated private network must be built and used only for security systems.
Signage and notice
- Standard visible warning signs must be placed at main facility entrances and inside elevators to notify that security surveillance is in use.
